Sempé
At the Hotel de Ville in Paris you can find a wonderful free entrance exhibition about the famous cartoonist Jean-Jacques Sempé who is particularly known for the illustration series of Le Petit Nicolas. What I find beautiful in his drawings is his capability of showing grace and sensibility within the details, the lines and the colors. Everything seems in perfect harmony although proportions and often human figures are not well shaped. If you live in Paris or happen to be there, just tale 10 mins of your time (unless there is a queue) and take a look inside the Hotel de Ville. You’ll be amazed!
